Crane fittings for the Aabach Bridge in Uster

The Aabach Bridge over the Aabach River in Niederuster has been restricted to single-lane traffic since 2022 due to structural concerns. Consequently, the Canton Council decided to replace the bridge. DSD Heavy Lift AG was engaged for this task. Following the successful demolition in April 2024, the installation of the new bridge plate for the Aabach Bridge in Uster took place on June 6, 2024.

Due to its special structure and stability requirements, the bridge plate, weighing over 200 tons and shaped like a parallelogram, demanded innovative solutions. Our task was to precisely lift and correct the bridge within a single workday using adjustable lifting equipment, consisting of our hydraulically adjustable strand jacks, without overloading individual sections. Our equipment served as crane fittings on the crane used: Terex Demag CC3800-1 crawler crane with 550t counterweight and 66m boom length.

This successful project not only demonstrates our technical capabilities, but also proves that we can carry out complex construction tasks efficiently and reliably.
