The DSD Heavy Lift AG successfully dismantled the heavy shield machine of the TBM "Delia" using specially developed portal steel constructions, accompanying shifting tracks, and strand jacks, whereby these tasks took place in the tunnel. We managed to complete this complex task within a remarkably short period of just under two months.

The shield machine was previously in the final drilling position in the nearly 5-kilometer-long tunnel. This tunnel serves as the access adit to the South Fault Zone as well as for ventilation of the main Gotthard Tunnel.

Thanks to the successful collaboration between Consorzio Cunicolo Gottardo, c/o Marti Tunnel AG, and our on-site supervisors, we were able to complete the shield machine dismantling on time and without incidents.

This successful project underscores our commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety in handling challenging tasks in the assembly and dismantling of tunnel boring machines.
