Controlled Lowering of a 600-Tonne Boiler

Dismantling of the Linz Power Plant

As part of the dismantling of the power plant in Linz, a 600-tonne, 55-metre-high boiler was safely and precisely lowered using the DSD strand lifting system. The boiler was lowered in 4-metre increments, allowing it to be dismantled section by section. 

LH200 strand jacks, together with the corresponding hydraulic and control systems, were used to carry out the lowering operation.
